This event is not for scaredy-cats!
Face your fears along a 1.5 mile route plus a train ride you won’t want to remember! Look out for clowns, zombies and creatures from the swamps of New Orleans, all put together by our CZS in-house team – Zoo team by day and scarers by night!
Safe Zones
There are several Safe Zones located along the route including Wrap and Roll, Chip N’ Mix, Meerkat Hangout and Snack Shack, which will allow you the chance to purchase food and drink without the fear of being frightened!
PLEASE NOTE: This event is CARD ONLY and Passholder Discount will not be valid on Trail of Terror evenings.
Live Entertainment
At the end of the trail the fun doesn’t stop there! Why not reflect on the horrors enjoyed with your friends and enjoy the live entertainment, food and drink until close. Don’t forget to share your spooky snaps on social media using the hashtag #TrailOfTerror

Tickets
Tickets must be pre-booked online in advance for a specific time of arrival. Arrival times are staggered throughout the evening to allow our staff to reset the scares!
Important Information:
You will be excited, you will be scared but please control yourself! Do not lash out, touch, violate or abuse scarers. They will not touch you.
Failure to follow the above and you will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.
Due to the nature of this event, we will not admit anyone under the age of 5 years old. We do not recommend this event for anyone under the age of 12 years old however, this is at guardians’ discretion. Under 16’s MUST be accompanied by guardian over 16 years.
Please also be aware that due to the unpredictable nature of the trail, this event may not be suitable for some people with sensory or other specific needs. Personal assistants will be admitted free of charge to accompany a guest with disability but verification may be requested on arrival.
Please note that a £0.50 booking fee applies per transaction.

This evening event does not include access to our daytime event Shriek Week. Although this event is hosted by us here at Colchester Zoological Society and the trail is within the park, this event does not include animal viewing.
