Things are ramping up over at Kingdom of the Wild!

Over the last few months, our in-house Maintenance Team have been incredibly busy upgrading the indoor area of our Kingdom of the Wild habitat with big improvements to the top floor of the building for both the animals and visitors alike.

The biggest project has been the improvements made to the outside walkway which leads to the upper level. Due to the aging structure, the ramp has been completely removed and rebuilt. Like all safety critical items, this walkway was part of periodic inspections and to ensure the safety of all visitors, staff and animals, the decision was made to improve the ramp before it became unsafe.

All of this work has been completed by our amazing in-house team. The framework of the ramp was built by our welders, before being galvanised and erected. The carpenters also laid new, non-slip decking for added grip. None of this would have been possible without the help of local businesses including Eastern Crane Hire.

Inside, the weaver bird aviary has seen some impressive updates with a new waterfall and pool, as well as new perching and upgraded lighting. The Spirit food outlet has also been remodelled and has grown in size to improve the visitor experience for those wanting a light snack and refreshment whilst observing the African species around them.

Our award-winning Exploratorium has returned to it’s usual location within the building and will be available once again with plenty of boxes to discover at weekends and throughout the Easter holidays. Be sure to pop by and learn more about the wonders of wildlife with our team!

We would like to say a huge thank you to our visitors for their support during this disruption and hope that you can join us for a wild day out!
