Please take note of the following closures and planned maintenance works when planning your visit to CZS

Colenso Village

Please be aware that our Colenso Village walkthrough is currently closed due to essential maintenance works.

Wallaby Walkabout

Please be aware that our group of red-necked wallabies have been moved to an off show habitat and can no longer be seen at CZS. Being in the later stages of their lives, the decision was made to retire the group to a quiet location of the Zoo, away from visitor areas. Our Wallaby Walkabout area is still accessible to visitors and is now home to a new young herd of pygmy goats, while Colenso Village walkthrough is currently undergoing redevelopment.

Jungle Tumble

Please be aware that our Jungle Tumble soft play area will be closed on the following dates due to essential maintenance works:
Monday 12th May – Friday 16th May 2025
Monday 19th May – Friday 23rd May 2025

Chimpanzee Lookout

13th May 2025
Please be aware that our Chimpanzee Lookout building will be closed on Tuesday 13th May due to essential maintenance works. Our group of chimpanzees will be off show during this time.

Stampede 10k

18th May 2025
Some areas within the lower part of the Zoo may be closed to visitors whilst the Stampede 10k race takes place from 9:00am to 11:00am. You may also experience some road disruptions around the Zoo with road closures taking place from 8:00am to 11:00am. Please factor this into your travel time before leaving.

Rajang’s Forest

From 2nd June 2025
We regret to inform you that it is essential for us to close Rajang’s Forest from 2nd June due to necessary maintenance works. Back in April 2024, we experienced severe damage to the roof of our indoor orangutan habitat, from a storm which involved winds of up to 50mph. The time has now come to permanently fix the roof of Rajang’s Forest. Unfortunately, this will not be a quick fix and is estimated to take around 6 weeks to complete. Therefore, we regret to inform you that it will not be possible to see our trio of orangutans during this time, to ensure the safety of all visitors.
