Hire a Stroller
We offer both single and double strollers for hire. We have a limited number of strollers available and recommend pre-booking them in advance (24hrs notice is required for pre-booking). Please complete the Hire Enquiry Form below and a member of the Guest Services Team will be in touch. Please be aware that until a confirmation from our team is received, an enquiry is not a confirmed booking due to the high demand. Strollers are available for children aged 1-6 years.

A £25 returnable deposit will be required on the day of your visit in order for the stroller to be released to you (deposit price is per stroller). Please note that a physical payment card is required to secure a deposit. Hire a Wheelchair or Mobility Scooter
You can hire a wheelchair or electric mobility scooter from Colchester Zoological Society at the main entrance.
We have a limited number of wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters available to hire and recommend pre-booking them in advance (24hrs notice is required for pre-booking). Electric mobility scooters are available for hire by those over 18 years ONLY.

Please note: The weight limit for our Electric Mobility Scooter hire is 350lbs.
Important Notice: Please be aware that mobility scooters and wheelchairs will not be available to hire during our Enchanted Trail of Light event.
Hire a Sensory Bag
We are pleased to be able to offer Sensory Bags that visitors are welcome to hire and use during their day exploring CZS for a small refundable deposit.
These bags have a range of resources including:

Core word communication board
If you would like to hire one of our Sensory Bags during your visit simply visit our ‘Hire collection point’, which is directly to the left once you have entered the Zoo with your tickets or Zoo Pass via our Admission building, opposite Capuchin Climb.
A small refundable deposit of £15 will be collected when you hire one of our Sensory Bags. Please note that a physical payment card is required to secure a deposit. Contactless payment method via digital wallet is accepted however, an administration fee will be incurred for this payment method therefore we recommend using a physical payment card for this service.
These are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We kindly ask you to treat all items within the Sensory Bag with care to ensure they can be enjoyed by another visitor on return.
Please return our Sensory Bag at the end of your visit for your deposit to be returned to you.
